  • The Emperor Red Snapper is a very large and active fish. Emperor Red Snappers have a mostly white body with strong deep red vertical stripes.

    Emperor Red Snappers reach a maximum adult size of around 46 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 300 gallons in size. Emperor Red Snappers are peaceful fish, but can get aggressive towards each other with age. Emperor Red Snappers do not make a good choice for reef tanks due to their very large size and taste of invertebrates.

    For a Emperor Red Snapper to really thrive it need to be kept in a very large fish only system. Emperor Red Snappers are very active and need lots of swimming room, which can be hard to accommodate due to their large size.

    Emperor Red Snappers are carnivores and need to be fed a diet rich in meaty foods. Fresh pieces of seafood are really the best food for a Emperor Red Snapper. Seafood like fish, scallop, squid and shrimp will keep your Emperor Red Snapper healthy and help it thrive in your tank.
