  • The Mimic Eibli Tang is a very interesting and stunning surgeonfish. Mimic Eibli Tangs get their name from the Centropyge eibli angelfish that they mimic. Mimic Eibli Tangs have a mostly tan body with a yellow belly and strong darker vertical stripes down their bodies. Mimic Eibli Tangs also have a deep blue tail.

    Mimic Eibli Tangs reach a maximum adult size of around 10 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons in size. Mimic Eibli Tangs are semi-aggressive fish that shouldn't bother many other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes the Mimic Eibli Tang a great tang to add to reef tanks.

    Mimic Eibli Tangs can be aggressive towards other tangs, especially those in the acanthurus family. To try and reduce aggression between tangs, try to introduce all your tangs to the tank at the same time and try to keep them in as large of a tank as well. Having a constant supply of algae will also keep your tangs from getting overly aggressive. Mimic Eibli Tangs will do better lots of open swimming room as well.

    Mimic Eibli Tangs are herbivores and require a diet that is rich in green foods. Foods like nori or marine algae sheets, high quality frozen foods, mysis and brine shrimp and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Mimic Eibli Tang healthy and thriving.
