  • The Yellow Tang is a stunning and amazing addition to any reef or fish only tank. The striking yellow coloration of the Yellow Tang is almost impossible to beat in an aquarium.

    Yellow Tangs can grow to a fully mature size of 8 inches and need to be kept in an aquarium that is at least 90 gallons. They are 100% reef safe and will not bother any corals or inverts which are key to keeping a healthy reef tank.

    Yellow Tangs are generally not aggressive fish, but they might be aggressive to other Zebrasoma tangs with a similar body shape. We have a Yellow Tang in our personal tank that gets along with a large Black Tang but terrorized a smaller Purple Tang that used to live in the tank. It’s best to keep a large number of Zebrasoma tangs together if keeping multiples in larger tanks.

    Yellow Tangs are herbivores and require a diet very rich in green foods. Foods such as Nori, Spirulina, high quality flake and pellet foods along with mysis shrimp will really help your Yellow Tang thrive and flourish in your tank.
