  • The Purple Tilefish is a stunning purple and pink reef fish. Purple Tilefish have a long and slender body with most of it covered in pink with a purple head.

    Purple Tilefish on reach a maximum size of around 5 inches and can be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons in size. Purple Tilefish are a great fish to add to your reef tank, since they will not bother other fish, coral or inverts found in reef tanks. Purple Tilefish can be aggressive to other tilefish though.

    Purple Tilefish like to be kept in tanks with a lot of live rock and a decent sand bed depth. Purple Tilefish will burrow in the substrate and like to hide in the live rock if spooked. It is not recommended to keep Purple Tilefish with larger aggressive fish, since they are not good at defending themselves.

    Purple Tilefish are carnivores and need a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, smaller chunks of quality seafood and high quality frozen foods can be offered to your Purple Tilefish. Purple Tilefish do the best when they are feeder smaller meals twice or three times a day.
