The Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse is a stunning and fairly rare wrasse from the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasses have a long slender body that has a strong horizontal black stripe, while the rest of its body is covered in a rainbow of yellows, blues and purples.

Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasses reach a maximum adult size of around 5 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons in size. Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasses are strong jumpers and need to be kept in tanks with a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to jump through.

Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasses are extremely delicate fish and do very poorly in home aquariums. They are very sensitive to ammonia and often are harmed during shipping. Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasses also have very tiny mouths and will often starve in home aquariums. Tiny foods like baby brine shrimp, cyclopeeze, small pieces of mysis shrimp and even nori algae sheets can help your Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse stay healthy in your home tank. Having a Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse in a tank with large fish will also help them stay alive. Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasses will constantly pick dead skin and parasites off of large fish and stay fed.
