  • The Ornate Leopard Wrasse is a stunning and very colorful wrasse. Ornate Leopard Wrasses have a mostly orange body with very strong neon green stops and markings covering the majority of its body.

    Ornate Leopard Wrasses reach a maximum size of around 5 inches and need to be kept in a tank that is at least 50 gallons in size. Ornate Leopard Wrasses are peaceful fish and should get along with other fish (including wrasses), inverts and coral in your tank. This makes them a great choice for reef tanks. Ornate Leopard Wrasses should only be kept in tanks that have a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to jump through if spooked.

    Ornate Leopard Wrasses also need to be kept in tanks with a deep enough sand bend of fine substrate that they can bury themselves in at night. Also having a tank with tons of established live rock and a refugium is a must for Ornate Leopard Wrasses. The tiny inverts that live in live rock and refugium are essential to an Ornate Leopard Wrasse's survival. This makes them a very hard to care for species, and should only be attempted by advanced aquarists.

    Ornate Leopard Wrasses are carnivores and need to fed a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty foods and high quality flake and pellet foods are essential to keeping your Ornate Leopard Wrasse happy and healthy. As said before, Ornate Leopard Wrasses also need to be offered live foods like pods to really thrive.
