  • The Temmincki Fairy Wrasse is a beautiful and active fairy wrasse. Temmincki Fairy Wrasse have a mostly blue body that fades to pink towards their dorsal fins. Female Temmincki Fairy Wrasses have a most dull color, while males can become extremely flamboyant and colorful with strong reds and pinks as they hit their terminal phase.

    Temmincki Fairy Wrasse reach a maximum size of around 5 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons. Temmincki Fairy Wrasses are strong jumpers and need to be kept in tanks that have a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to jump through if spooked. Temmincki Fairy Wrasses are peaceful fish and shouldn't bother other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes them a great fish for reef tanks.

    Temmincki Fairy Wrasses do best in tanks with lots of hiding places and live rock. Being peaceful fish Temmincki Fairy Wrasse like to be able to hide in the rock work from time to time. Temmincki Fairy Wrasses will also pick at the rocks for small inverts between feedings. Only one male Temmincki Fairy Wrasse can be kept in a tank at once because of aggression issues. Temmincki Fairy Wrasses do well in small groups of all females, or one male with multiple females.

    Temmincki Fairy Wrasses are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality pellet and flake foods will keep your Temmincki Fairy Wrasse healthy and happy.
