The Zebra Reef Hermit Crab is a very colorful and useful hermit crab. Zebra Reef Hermit Crabs have a darker body with golden white stripes along their legs.

Zebra Reef Hermit Crabs reach a maximum adult size of around 2 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 10 gallons in size. Zebra Reef Hermit Crabs are peaceful crabs and shouldn't bother many other inverts, coral or fish in your tank. This makes the Zebra Reef Hermit Crab a great addition to most reef tanks. Since Zebra Reef Hermit Crabs don't make their own shells, the will kill larger snails for their shells when needed.

Zebra Reef Hermit Crabs will do best in tanks with lots of live rock for them to explore for small pieces of leftover food and algae. This makes the Zebra Reef Hermit Crab a great addition to your tanks clean up crew. Some larger and aggressive fish like triggers and puffers might try to eat Zebra Reef Hermit Crabs, so take that into consideration with adding Zebra Reef Hermit Crabs to an aggressive FOWLR tank.

Zebra Reef Hermit Crabs will get most of their nutrition from foods they find in your aquarium. If you would like to supplement this omnivores diet, simply add both meaty and green foods to the tank like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods.

If you have any questions about the Zebra Reef Hermit Crab and if it's the right crab to add to your tank, please feel free to contact us at any time.
