  • Cucumbers are a great member of a clean up crew for reef tanks and cleaner fish only tanks. Cucumbers spend most of their time eating detritus and other waste found on your rocks and substrate.

    Most Cucumbers can grow to impressive sizes well over a foot, but do not generally require large aquariums. Cucumbers will only do well tanks with very clean water and good parameters. Cucumbers will not thrive in dirty fish only systems.

    Cucumbers are generally peaceful animals, but can be cause harm to other inhabitants of the tank if they die. Cucumbers can release a toxin into the tank upon death. Most times this is causes by them getting stuck in an overflow or pump.
