  • Description
  • The Purple Tiger Scallop is a stunning scallop named after it's purple color and black bands that resemble the stripes of a tiger.

This scallop has a classic clam like shell and grows to around six inches when fully mature. Shell colors can vary from white to pink and darker purple.

Scallops are filter eaters and for the most part will get all the nutrition they need from particles in your tank's water. Food for Purple Tiger Scallops include krill, algae, larvae and different types of plankton.

Purple Tiger Scallops are not often found in the aquarium trade, so when they do become available they are rather sought after and do not stay in stock long.

Purple Tiger Scallops are non-aggressive peaceful invertabrates and will go well with your reef tank, posing little to no harm to it's tankmates.
