  • Feather Dusters are extremely beautiful and delicate creates and can make an amazing addition to your reef tank. Feather Dusters are housed in hard tubes and will extend their crowns out to filter plankton and other small organisms for nutrition.

    Feather Dusters can extend to just over 6 inches and should be housed in aquariums that are at least 20 gallons. If a Feather Duster feels threatened, it will quickly retract into its tube. If bothered for extended periods of time, Feather Dusters can lose their crowns. Most of the times their crowns will grow back if left alone.

    Feather Dusters are peaceful and can be kept in both reef and FOWLR tanks. They will not bother other inverts, coral or fish. Feather Dusters are omnivores and are great filter feeders. If you feel that there isn’t enough food in your tank to keep your Feather Dusters thriving, you can try to add mysis or baby brine shrimp to your tank to supplement feedings.
