  • Description
  • The Bicolor Angelfish is one of the smaller of the reef angelfish. At only 6 inches when fully grown, the Bicolor Angelfish can be kept in tanks as small as 55 gallons without many issues. Given their small size, the Bicolor Angelfish has become a very popular choice with reef keepers.

The Bicolor Angelfish is distinguished by their multicolor body, with a bright yellow front half and an electric blue back half. The Bicolor Angelfish also has a yellow tail and a blue marking on its head.

Bicolor Angelfish can be kept in reef aquariums. Caution should be taken though, since Bicolor Angels have been known to pick at corals they take a liking to. As with many situations, it just comes down to the luck of the drawn and the individual personality of the fish to end up with a full reef safe Bicolor Angel.

Bicolor Angelfish can change sexes between male and female as they age or given their living situation. Unlike some fish, there is no difference in coloration or size between male and female Bicolor Angelfish.

Bicolor Angelfish are omnivores, needing a diet rich in algae, mysis shrimp and Spirulina to grow and flourish in an aquarium. If housed in the proper sized aquarium, given the correct diet, the Bicolor Angelfish can be an amazing addition to your FOWLR or Mixed Reef tank.
