  • Description
  • The Wartskin Angler is a very unique fish. The Wartskin Angler takes on the appearance of a piece of rock and waits around for a victim to come by so it can strike.

The Wartskin Angler can get as large as 6 inches, but since it is not a very active swimmer, it can be housed in an aquarium as small as 40 gallons. Since the Wartskin Angler will try to eat anything that it can fit in its mouth, you need to take warning when adding one to your reef tank. Adding a lot of rock to your tank, helps the Wartskin Angler blend into its surroundings better, making it easier for them to attack successfully.

The Wartskin Angler has the ability to blend into its surrounding, meaning that its colors can range widely. The color of the Wartskin Angler can go from near white to almost completely black, just depending on what helps it blend more into its environment.

To get a Wartskin Angler used to life in an aquarium, live feeder shrimp should be used to entice the angler to eat. After it gets used to eating, non-live food like fresh seafood can be substituted for live food.
