  • The Onyx Percula Clown is a beautiful and uniquely colored tank raised clownfish. Onyx Percula Clowns have a mostly orange body with strong vertical white stripes. Onyx Percula Clownfish also have more black on their bodies than normal Percula Clowns as well.

    Onyx Percula Clownfish reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and can be kept in tanks as small as 20 gallons. Onyx Percula Clownfish are semi-aggressive and can be territorial and aggressive to other non-paired clownfish and damsels. Onyx Percula Clownfish do extremely well in a male female pair as well.

    Onyx Percula Clownfish are popularly kept with an anemone that they can be hosted in. The anemone keeps the Onyx Percula Clownfish safe from more aggressive larger fish that might try to eat the clowns. Onyx Percula Clowns are immune to the sting of the anemone, while other larger fish are not and will leave the clowns alone in their anemone.

    Onyx Percula Clowns are aggressive eaters and are not fussy about their food. Onyx Percula Clownfish are omnivores and do well on a balanced diet of meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality flake and pellet foods and high quality frozen foods will keep your Onyx Percula Clownfish healthy and thriving.
