Description
The Colored Filefish is a stunning and super colorful filefish. Colored Filefish have a mostly bright red body with a darker head. Some Colored Filefish have a stronger orange coloration as well.

Colored Filefish reach a maximum adult size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons. Colored Filefish are peaceful fish that shouldn't bother other non-filefish in your tank. Colored Filefish have been known to nip at hard and soft corals as well as smaller inverts. This makes them a bad choice to add to reef aquariums.

Colored Files should be kept in tanks with lots of live rock and even marine plants in them. Colored Filefish will spend most of their days going through the live rock and plants looking for small inverts to eat between feedings.

Colored Filefish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Colored Filefish do best when fed small pieces of fresh seafood like shrimp, scallops and shrimp. Prepared foods like mysis and brine shrimp can also be offered to your Colored Filefish. Some Colored Filefish will also accept high quality flake and frozen foods. Colored Filefish do best when fed small meals throughout the day instead of one large meal.
