Filefish come in a host of colors and markings, with most of them having a slender body that doesn't get much larger than half a foot as a fully grown adult.

Most Filefish can be added to a reef tank with caution, since they might take a liking to various invertebrates found in a reef tank. Filefish are mostly peaceful fish to all fish by those of similar species. Filefish should not be kept with overly aggressive large fish though.

Filefish are truly unique looking fish that can add a great bit of variety to your aquarium. Filefish are normally pretty hardy fish, so they should be able to be kept by most aquarists, if a good variety of foods are offered and they are with suitable tank mates.
