  • The Hifin Snapper is an extremely interesting and beautiful fish. Hifin Snappers have a mostly silver body with strong black markings and bright yellow highlights. Hifin Snappers are also known for their extremely long dorsal fins.

    Hifin Snappers reach a maximum size of around 24 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 180 gallons. Hifin Snappers are fairly peaceful fish and should be kept with other larger peaceful to semi-aggressive fish. Many fish will go after its long fins, so they should not be kept in aggressive fish.

    Hifin Snappers should not be kept in reef tanks, since they will eat any invert they can find. These inverts are essential to reef tanks, so the Hifin Snapper is a not great choice. Hifin Snappers should thrive in large fish only tanks with more peaceful tank mates.

    Hifin Snappers are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods like chunks of fresh seafood like fish, shrimp and scallops will help your Hifin Snapper stay healthy and happy.
