  • Description
  • The Assasi Trigger is one of the most colorful and stunning of all the triggerfish. It has such a unique and interesting coloration that is even gets the nickname of Picasso Triggerfish. The Assasi Trigger has a mostly white body with various blue, yellow and black markings.

Assasi Triggers reach a fully grown adult size of around 12 inches and need to be kept in a tank that is at least 90 gallons in size. Assasi Triggers are aggressive fish and should not be kept with smaller more docile fish. Assasi Triggers will also eat most inverts that they can lay their large teeth on. Assasi Triggers are known to also re-arrange rock work. All these reasons make Assasi Triggerfish a bad choice for reef tanks.

If kept in larger fish only tanks with other semi-aggressive to aggressive fish, Assasi Triggers can be a stunning and colorful showpiece fish in the tank. Assasi Triggers can also be kept very well in a male / female pair if introduced around the same time.

Assasi Triggerfish are carnivores and require a diet that is very rich in meaty foods. Foods like frozen predator foods, small pieces of fresh seafood with tough shells, mysis and brine shrimp as well as high quality flake and pellet foods should keep your Assasi Triggers healthy and happy.
