  • Description
  • The Bursa Triggerfish is a stunning and beautiful trigger. Bursa Triggerfish have a mostly white body with a dark brown spot and a strong eye mask of yellow lined in blue.

Bursa Triggerfish reach a maximum adult size of around 10 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 125 gallons. Bursa Triggerfish are aggressive fish and shouldn't be kept with smaller less aggressive fish. Bursa Triggerfish will also eat inverts that it can find around the tank. Bursa Triggers are known to move rocks around in your tank when larger as well. All of these reasons make the Bursa Triggerfish a bad addition to reef tanks.

If you have a large fish only tank, the Bursa Triggerfish can add a nice amount of movement and color to the tank. Bursa Triggers do best in tanks that have lots of live rock for them to hide in if they feel threatened as well.

Bursa Triggers are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. As juveniles, Bursa Triggers can be fed a diet of mysis and brine shrimp as well as high quality meaty frozen foods. As adults Bursa Triggerfish will require more substantial foods like chunks of fresh seafood like clams, squid, shrimp, scallops and fish. Foods with hard shells will also help your Bursa Triggerfish keep its teeth ground down.
