  • The Red Margin Fairy Wrasse is a beautiful and very active reef safe wrasse. Red Margin Fairy Wrasses have a mostly red or pink body with strong green and yellow markings. Male and terminal phase Red Margin Fairy Wrasses tend to have much stronger red coloring, while females are more pale pink in color.

    Red Margin Fairy Wrasses reach a maximum adult size of around 5 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 75 gallons in size. Red Margin Fairy Wrasses are strong jumpers and need to be kept in tanks that have a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to jump through if spooked. Red Margin Fairy Wrasses will not bother coral, inverts of fish in your tank, making them a great choice for reef tanks.

    More than one male Red Margin Fairy Wrasse should not be kept in a tank together or they will be very aggressive towards each other. Red Margin Fairy Wrasses do very well when kept in either all female groups, or a group of females with one male. Red Margin Fairy Wrasses will spend most of their days looking for small inverts to eat in the rockwork between feedings.

    Red Margin Fairy Wrasses are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality flake and pellet foods and high quality meaty frozen foods will keep your Red Margin Fairy Wrasse healthy and happy.
