  • The Halloween Hermit Crab is a very colorful and useful crab. Halloween Hermit Crabs have a mostly bright red to orange body and will scavenge shells from snails.

    Halloween Hermit Crabs reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 20 gallons. Halloween Hermit Crabs are peaceful creatures and shouldn't bother other inverts, coral or fish in your tank. This makes the Halloween Hermit Crab a great addition to reef tanks.

    Halloween Hermit Crabs should be kept in tanks with lots of live rock in them. Halloween Hermit Crabs will spend most of their lives going through the rock looking for leftover foods and algae to eat. This makes the Halloween Hermit Crab a great addition to your tanks clean up crew. When the shell of a Halloween Hermit Crab is too small, it will look for a bigger snail to kill and take its shell from.

    Halloween Hermit Crabs are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in bother meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, nori or marine algae sheets, high quality frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Halloween Hermit Crab healthy and happy.
