  • Description
  • The Coco Worm is a stunning and very elegant worm. Coco Worms have a hard tube like skeleton that houses its crown. The crown of the Coco Worm can be various colors and are a sight to behold in your tank.

Coco Worms reach a maximum size of around 12 inches in captivity and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons in size. Coco Worms are peaceful inverts and will not bother other inverts, corals or fish in your tank. This makes the Coco Worm a great addition to reef tanks.

Coco Worms should not be kept with any fish that like to nip at corals or inverts. When threatened or aggravated, the Coco Worm will draw itself into its tube. Coco Worms need to be kept in tanks that have pristine water quality and will benefit from having trace elements like calcium added back into the tank with either water changes or by dosing. Calcium is required for the Coco Worm to grow its tube.

Coco Worms are filter feeders and will get most of their nutrition through the water column. If you would like to supplement the diet of your Coco Worm, try adding small meaty foods like baby brine shrimp or micro-plankton to the tank.
