  • Description
  • The Sea Robin is a very unique and beautiful fish. Sea Robins have a mostly brown to tan body with many white and dark brown markings covering its entire body. Sea Robins also have extremely interesting fins that they can spread wide open.

Sea Robins reach a maximum adult size of around 11 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 100 gallons in size. Sea Robins are semi-aggressive fish and might attack smaller fish and inverts. For this reason, it is not a good idea to add a Sea Robin to your reef tank.

Sea Robins need to be kept singularly in your tank, since multiple Sea Robins will be aggressive towards each other. Sea Robins will thrive when kept in tanks with lots of live rock and substrate. This will allow them to blend into their surroundings and wait for a meal to come by. Without places for the Sea Robin to hide in your tank, they will become stressed and more than likely ill.

Sea Robins are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp as well as high quality meaty frozen foods will keep a smaller Sea Robin healthy. As the Sea Robin grows larger, it will need larger meals like chunks of fresh seafood. Sea Robins might need to be feed live feeder shrimp when first added to your tank to get used to eating in its new environemnt.
