  • The Harlequin Shrimp is a very colorful and unique shrimp. Harlequin Shrimp are small shrimp with a mostly white body with tan and blue markings. Harlequin Shrimp have large decorative claws as well.

    Harlequin Shrimp reach a maximum adult size of around 2 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons in size. Harlequin Shrimp are peaceful shrimp and shouldn't bother other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes them a good addition to a reef tank.

    Harlequin Shrimp will feed mainly on starfish and sometimes might eat other inverts like urchins and some shrimp. You need to take this into account when adding a Harlequin Shrimp to your tank. Harlequin Shrimp should not be kept with large overly aggressive fish either. Harlequin Shrimp cannot live in tanks with less than pristine water parameters as well.

    Harlequin Shrimp might learn to eat other meaty foods besides starfish, but they are their primary diet. Meaty foods like mysis and brine shrimp as well as small chunks of fresh seafood might be accepted by your Harlequin Shrimp.
